About to set off home!
We are sat in the hotel lobby waiting for our coach to the airport. We had an awards ceremony yesterday and a goodbye meal. We've all had an amazing time but really looking forward to seeing our families when we get home. Quite a few of us are a 7 on 'the scale' though..... (rob and I included)

View from Leh Gompa
This is the view over Leh from the Gompa (monastery)- quite a walk up as you can imagine.
Leh Gompa
I love this photo - there are prayer flags everywhere in Ladakh - here they stretched over 100m between the Gompa and an outcrop of rock.
The Team at 5180m
This was the last but one day of the trek. We trekked up to 5180m from our campsite that took 1.5 hrs. We then descended about 1.3km in vertical height to our campsite for the night - the whole day took over 8hrs - we were all knackered..

Me higher than Everest basecamp
Rob and I walked a little higher than the rest of the group up a ridge next to Kang Yatze (6400m) and managed (with much shortness of breath and headaches) to get to 5516m. This is over 18,000ft.
Everest base camp is 5380m. What a view! The rest of the group got to 5180m the day after - an amazing achievment.

Markha village at dawn
This was a great place - about half way down Markha Valley (ish). There is a monestary on the hill in the centre. This was about 7.20 in the morning after a 5am start. (The earliest we got up was 4am - the day before...)
Rob and Me being silly
Note the 2 local girls to the left who were very bemused when I pressed the shutter button and ran up onto the bridge to square up to Rob.
Markha Valley Kids
These kids were so funny - they looked liked old men - when I showed them the picture after I'd taken it they burst into giggles and smiles - wish I had a pic of that too!

Himalayan Volleyball
A volleyball match that was played on the sports day in Likir - note the rather attractive looking bench in the foreground - we made 8 of these during the week - bloody hard work with the tools we had.....
Sports day - Likir
The students organised a sports day for the local children - this was our group shot at the end of the day - infront of our mural
